difference between hold on and wait

Difference between "Hold On" & "Wait"?

  • Best Answer - Chosen by Voting
When used as a command, there is no difference. But when used in other contexts(хам утга), there is a difference. For example, "There was a long wait to get my lunch." But you would not say, "There was a long hold on to get my lunch."
"Hold on" may also be used as an action such as holding on to something. "I need to hold on to this." or "He is holding on to that paper."

opinion---a personal belief or judgment(бодол, шүүмж) that is not founded on proof or certainity

Thoughts can be anything - silly, nasty, ridiculous, pleasant, angry, wishful. They aren't necessarily what you really feel about something.

Opinions are your definite feelings about something.

Difference Between Drug and Medicine

Difference Between Drug and Medicine

From chemistry point of view, there is no distinction between the terms drugs and medicines, i.e., all drugs are medicines and all medicines are drugs. However, our society and law make a clear-cut distinction between these two terms as follow:

A medicine is a chemical substance(бодис) which cures(эдгээх) the disease(өвчин), is safe to use, has negligible(өчүүхэн) toxicity(хортой байдал) and does not cause addiction(дон). In contrast(харьцуулахад), a drug is a chemical substance(бодис) which also cures(эдгээх) the disease but is habit(зуршил) forming(үүсгэлт), causes addiction and has serious side effects (side effect - харш нөлөө)

difference between look at and take a look at

What is the difference between "look at" and "take a look at"?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Well, it's analogous to the difference between "dump" and "take a dump". }:-D > (emoticon for a devilish grin)

Seriously, though, "look at" does not focus on the time or effort required for the look, but "take a look at" would give some slight emphasis on the time or effort involved in the looking. However, the construction "take a look at" is perhaps less formal, and should perhaps be avoided in your doctoral thesis.

Source(s):

My own personal observations of common useage. Nothing more.

Other Answer

hey mean the same thing, basically
although it seems that "take a look at "
implies a bit of a closer inspection,

Other Answer

They mean more or less the same.

You might say "look at that girl over there" but "take a look at this book" - using "take a look" when referring to something closer, and which you want the person to examine more carefully.
