would have done - ()in the past you had some problems. so you couldn't do it in the past ( i would have done my graduation -- би сургуулиа дүүргэх байсан юм (хэрвээ тэгээгүй ингээгүй байсан бол))
could have done - ()you had possibility to do it in the past. but you made decision no to do it (i could have done my graduation --- би сургуулиа дүүргэж болох байсан юм)
should have done - ()something was right or correct to do in the past but you did not do it (i should have done my graduation --- би сургуулиа дүүргэх хэрэгтэй байсан юм)
must have done - () you are sure that something happened in the past. but you don't know result. it means you are confident in yourself that happened exactly. but it can be not happened because you don't know. so you are surprised of it
might have done - () you are not sure something happened in the past or not (there was party. but you don't know who did that party "i might have done this party = you cannot remember it whether you did or not(maybe you did it, maybe you did not it)")
may have done - ()you are not sure something happened in the past or not (there was party. but you don't know who did that party "i may have done this party = you cannot remember it whether you did or not(maybe you did it, maybe you did not it)")
needn't have done - () you did something but now you see that you did was not necessary (for example: George had to go out. He thought it was going to rain. So he decided to take the umbrella. "he needn't have taken the umbrella = he took the umbrella but this was not necessary. of course he did not know this when he went out" )

difference between should/could/would have done
difference between could/might/may have done
- 'May have' is used when you are not sure whether or not something happened. If you want to talk about something that could have happened in the past but didn't, use 'might have' e.g "I might have passed the test if I had worked harder."'Could have' has the same meaning as 'might have' - it shows there was a chance.'Must have' shows we are certain about something that happened in the past. e.g "That noise you heard must have been my brother playing his drums next door."I hope that helps.
- might, may, and could+ have+p.p. three of these are the same meaning ( past situation...maybe it happened, maybe it did not. we do not know for sure, but we know that it was possible)
difference between might do and might have done
(when I mention the event that happened in the past,
what's the difference in meaning between "I might do" and "I might have done" / )
- "I might do it" - The event of doing it is in the future, and you are still considering if you will do it or not.
"I may have done it" The event of doing it is in the past, and you cannot remember if you did it or not.
- I might do = I am able to do that but I do not know whether I will or not.
"I might have done that " sounds strange since it is used while expressing action when we don't know whether or not it took place.
difference between may/might have done
- We use may have and might have to show that something has possibly happened now or happened at some time in the past:It’s ten o’clock. They might have arrived now.[= Perhaps they have arrived]
They may have arrived hours ago. [= Perhaps they arrived hours ago.]
must have done = may have done?
(* Sam was sure that his wallet must have been found by one of the villagers.
May I ask if I can replace the "must have been" with "may have been" or "mighthave been"? Like the ones below:
* Sam was sure that his wallet may have been found by one of the villagers.
* Sam was sure that his wallet might have been found by one of the villagers.
Thank you for taking your precious time answering my question.)
- There is nothing ungrammatical in using may or might instead of must but as you havewas sure at the beginning of the sentence, must is a far better choice. If you think of the meanings of may, might and must in your native language, I think you'll realise that the same is true even then.
