difference between fear and terror

  • Fear: I couldn't go on the rollercoaster because of my fear of heights. You could see the fear in his eyes.

Terror(more emotional than fear): In that moment I felt absolute terror at the thought that my friend had died, luckily that was not the case.

  • Fear usually refers to how you feel about something that ALWAYS scares you. Terror usually means the feeling you get when something is scaring you for at least little while.

  • fear                                                                                                                                               This is a general word for being afraid. It's a mild feeling. It can refer to the emotion of being afraid, the feeling of anxiety, to be sorry and to be in awe.                                                                                      terror                                                                                                                                             Terror is the overwhelming(асар их), most intense feeling of fear or panic. It is also used to describe a poorly behaved child, or someone that causes fear or mayhem.

         difference between fear and fright
  • Fright is just a synonym ( a word that has the same meaning) of fear. You could look at it this way, fear is an emotion and fright is a sudden neurological(мэдрэлийн систэмийн) response(хариу үйлдэл). Fright is defined as a sudden intense feeling of fear. Hope this helps! :)
