difference between horror and terror
- It's the same thing. A few years ago horror books were usually called terror, but for marketing reasons, they are now usually called Horror. If you look at Amazon , they call their horror section- huh, horror section. I think maybe it has to do with the association of the word terror to other things, like terrorism. The same thing happens with movies. In the good old days, they were terror movies, not they're horror movies.
- I think terror is more realistic like when there is an earthquake or something, and horror is kind of more disturbing or more psychological. I don't know the real answer but that's what I think :)
- Horror: intense(үлэмж их, хүчтэй) and profound(маш гүнзгий) fear.
Terror: panic, an overwhelming(хэмжээлшгүй) feeling of fear and anxiety.
- Horror suggests an element of revulsion that needn't be present in terror. Horror could be showing somebody being murdered with a chain saw. Terror would be somebody anticipating(зөгнөх, совин татах) being murdered by a chain saw.
- Terror and horror are interrelated(харилцан холбоотой) words in English language that have similar meanings. There are different connotations of the two words that are used in different contexts. There are many who think they are same and use them interchangeably which is incorrect.
- Terror vs Horror In brief: Both terror and horror are human emotions that evoke different responses Terror relates with extreme fear and anxiety whereas horror relates more with revulsion.
You feel horrified when you something very disturbing or unpleasing
You feel terrified when under an imminent(айсуй, нөмөрч буй аюул) danger
