difference between lovely, attractive, beautiful, pretty, handsome, good-looking, gorgeous

these words all describe people who are pleasant to look at

pretty                   - хөөрхөн
handsome            - аятайхан, дажгүй
attractive             - дур булаам
lovely                   - сэтгэл татам
good-looking        - сайхан харагдалтай
beautiful               - хөөрхөн
gorgeous              - сүр жавхлантай


pretty and beautiful
  • pretty - is used most often to talk about girls. when it is used to talk about a woman, it usually suggest that she is attractive, but not beautiful
  • beautiful - specially of a woman or girl
attractive and lovely
  • attractive - especially in a sexual way
  • lovely - with pleasant personality. when you describe someone as lovely, you are usually showing that you also have a feeling of affection for them
good-looking
  • it describes only someone's physical appearance
handsome
  • man and woman with strong features rather than small, delicate ones: he was described as "tall, dark, and handsome". Joan Crawford was a handsome woman.
gorgeous
  • (informal) extremely attractive.
